pinch pot with lid
to construct this i made a pinch pot and used a little help from hunter. i then made the bottom thinner to make it more the shape of a strawberry. i then made the lid by rolling up clay and finding the right size. once the right size was made i added a bezel so that the lid couldnt move out the pot. and then added the strawberry leaves by rolling up clay and cutting it. i used 3 coats of glze. I think the part that was the hardest of the peice was making the seeds. because it was super time consuming and im very impatient. the easiest part was coloring the whole thing red and it was my favorite because it was satisfying. a part i would do different would be making the top a little bit more even, because it only closes from 1 angle. another thing i would do differently would be make the bottom more flat, because with the lid it needs a little bit of support to stand. i think what worked well was doing the red glaze because it was super easy.
pinch pot connected
to make this project i first took 2 even peices of clay and rolled them in to a ball. i then asked a friend to start 1 pinch pot while i did the other one. i flattened the bottom of both pots to be able to add a layer of flat clay on top. i then added the leaves out of flattened clay. to end it off i cut holes in to the botom of both of the pots and connected them. i think what workd the best in this project was adding the layer on top of the pots. because i thought it would bend in but it ended up actually staying flat. another thingh that worked well was cutting the hole in the bottom. i thought it would be uneven and ugly but it ended up working really well. what i would do differently is i would probably cut the sides of the flatened top off before i wet it. because after i wet it it was super annoying to cut and still doesnt look as clean. another thing that i would do differently is make the pot a little smoother becase i still dont really know how to smoothen peices.
pinch pot made into something useful (never worked)
to make this project i first made a pinch pot and was with a flatter bottom. i then added a punctured hole in it in order to have a pencil sharpener. this idea didnt work out because you said that the dirft would get in the way of the sgharpener. and i would have no way of cleaning the sharpener once it filled up. i think you were right but i bet i could come up with something. i think the easiest part of this project was definetly making the pinch pot with the hole because its a litle poorly amde wich is why it was easy. i have goten alot better since but yeah. the funest part was making the idea because i thought it was decently useful and a cool idea. what i would do differently is make the sides a little more even and add a little more thinking so that this project will actually work next time. what im expecting to do next time is to make a plant on top, and probably an art peice beneath where the water that comes from the ground goes in to a pond where frogs are (out of clay).
releif tile
to make this projcet i rolled some clay and flattened it untill it was even all around. the next thing i did was use a knife to make a perfect square. following this i rolled another peice of clay to mke the diamond part of the brvazil flag and then added the circle after form the same peice of clay. i then used a ball point tool to add the streak across the circle. my favorite part of this peice was using the knife tool because i think its super fun and satisfying to use. and a part i think went well was the design. because it looks like the actual flag and it was super easy to score and slip. the part iw ish i could do differenely would be make the square more flat. because if you look at it from the side its bent. this makes a big difference because it gives it less functionality asnd i regret it. it made me alearn a lesson to always make sure the bottom is flat.
animal sculpture/ historical peice
to construct this peice i first made the dodo by making a clay ball and roundning it to an oval. after it was an oval i made the tail with another ball and cut feathers from a flattened peice of clay. after this procces i finished the tail by adding details with a scapple tool. i then proceeded to make the head and neck by rolling a peice of clay the squishing it. after this i made the dcision that it wont be able to be held by their fragile legs so i decided to make a nest. for the nest i flattened clay for the base, where i then made a rim by rolling clay. after rolling i made eggs to add more detail. then i glazed it in softer colors to give it a more profesional look. my favorite part was making the dodo because it felt like i was putting life in it the mroe i made it. a part that i feel i can do different and wish i could have done different is not drying out the body berfore putting it on the nest. from his mistake i now always make sure the lid is tight so that it doesnt dry. because after it dryed the neck came off and uit was hard to put back on. another part i wish different was hallowing it out before it dryed. a part that went well was making the nerst and the body because it was super simple and took no time. it was also my favorite part because it was honestly fun i had a blast with this project. this peice is supposed to symbolize the dodo birds wich is an extinct flightless bird that is known to be super nice and eat rocks in order to digest food quicker. it is super interesting to me so i decided to make it into a piece.
pinch pot cut in half
i first dug my thumbs in untill ti was open inside,. after i shaped it untill it had a bowl shape. afrter this i used the tool to cut it in half checked if it was okay with you then i turned it into a pinch pot.
